CLEARANCE BETWEEN NEEDLE AND SHUTTLE HOOK
The clearance between needle and shuttle hook should be 0 – 0.15 mm.
Note : A small correction could be done when doing needle centering to
needle plate (see page 14).
1.
Set the pattern selector dial at the left in straight sewing.
2.
Remove the rear cover (see page 5).
3.
Loosen the hexagon socket screw A and move lower shaft D to the right
slightly (approximately 0.5 mm) and tighten the hexagon socket screw A
slightly.
4.
Loosen the two hexagon socket screws B and C and adjust the clearance
by moving the shuttle race body E.
5.
Tighten the two hexagon socket screw B and C slightly and set the zigzag
width at the maximum.
6.
Turn the flywheel and check if the both clearances between needle drop
position and the spring F is equal as shown. If not, loosen the two hexagon
socket screws B and C and adjust the position of the spring F by turning the
shuttle race body.
7.
Tighten the two hexagon socket screws B and C.
8.
Loosen the hexagon socket screw A and adjust the backlash of gears. Then
tighten the hexagon socket screw A.
9.
Attach the rear cover (see page 5).
