1) In General

All Famos rotary heat sealers conform to the Dutch and German Directives (R3280 en DIN 58.953 Teil 7)
that are drawn up for sealing packing material as indicated below. All Famos F110 heat sealers can
therefore be used for packing medical equipment.
The Famos heat sealers are NOT medical products.
It is not allowed to use the sealers in the direct presence of patients (for example, in operation theatres).
The minimum distance between the heat sealing machines and patients should be 1,5m.
The Famos F220 series of rotary heat sealers are all featuring the so-called "In-Process" check of the
important seal parameters i.c.
- Temperature
- Sealing Speed
- Force
Those three parameters are monitored continuously for each and every seal which is being made by those
machines. With this the quality of each seal is guaranteed. When one of the parameters is out of its
tolerance the sealer will indicate this through its LCD-display. The instruments involved have to be packed
and sealed again after one failure has occurred. When the sealer is indicating the same failure over and
over again it is necessary to re-calibrate the sealing machine.
The seal parameters can be checked after each and every run via the menu "seal parameters" which
displays the last recorded seal parameters in the LCD-display. The F220DEP and F220DBC have the
option to print-out a list of recorded seal parameters by connecting a optional external printer to those
machines.

Working area

The Famos F220DEP rotary heat sealer is suitable for sealing following materials:
•
Laminate packing material
•
Sterilisation paper packingmaterial fitted with top seal
•
Tyvek (if sealer is designed as a Tyvek sealer)
For the correct temperature setting of the different packing materials we refer to the manufacturer of the
materials.
The Famos F220DEP rotating heat sealer is not suitable for sealing the following material:
•
Polyethylen foil
•
Soft PVC foil
•
Hard PVC foil
•
Polyamide foil
•
Polypropylen foil
(For above materials Famos bv can offer an impuls sealer).
