This chapter describes how to remove and replace the
major assemblies of the NCR Personal Computer PC 4i.
The description includes all assemblies that are used
in
the computer, therefore be sure that the correct
procedure is used since not all features are in every
system.
In some of the figures assemblies are not shown for
reasons of clarity. It is only necessary to remove
what is described in the text.
When a complete assembly is replaced, contact your
supplier or NCR office for information concerning the
possible repair of the defective assembly.
Disconnect the power cord before removing the
cabinet. Dangerous voltages are present
working with the covers removed. Only trained
engineers should attempt
computer with the covers removed.
Do not leave the computer unattended with
power applied and the covers removed.
To remove the cabinet, refer to Figure 6-1 and use
the following procedure:
1.
Be sure that the ON/OFF switch is in the OFF
position
2.
Disconnect the power cord (A).
