General information Reciprocating saw General information Reading and storing the user manual This user manual accompanies this reciprocating saw. It contains impor- tant information on start-up and handling. For improved readability, the reciprocating saw will be referred to only as the “saw” below. Before using the saw, read the user manual carefully.

Safety Reciprocating saw • Operation or maintenance of the saw by persons not familiar with how to handle the saw and/or who are not aware of the related risks. Residual risks The user manual for this saw contains exclusive notes on how to safely work with it. However, every power tool carries certain residual risks, which existing protective devices are unable to rule out completely.
Safety Reciprocating saw Electrical safety a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock. b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators.

A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury. e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situa- tions.

First use Reciprocating saw First use WARNING! Risk of injury! Handling the saw improperly may result in severe injury. − Before working on the saw, pull the mains plug out of the socket. Checking the saw and pack contents 1. Open the package and pull the transport case out.
First use Reciprocating saw 4. Release the locking mechanism so that it will automatically rotate back clockwise and close the saw blade holder. Check whether the saw blade is secure and that the locking mechanism can no longer be turned clockwise. If you change the saw blade after use, remove saw dust from the saw blade holder before doing so.

Improper handling may result in severe injury. − Read and observe the safety instructions at the beginning of the user manual before you start working. − Make sure that the On/Off switch is not locked in place before you insert the mains plug in the socket.

Release the On/Off switch again. The saw will now run continuously with the preset stroke rate (see chapter “Setting the stroke rate”).
