Operation

Applications
The slicer is designed for use with bread,
cold cuts, ham, cheese, cold roasts and
other foodstuffs suitable for slicing.
Short-term operation
The appliance has been designed for short-
term operation only, i.e. the slicer should not
be operated continuously for more than 5
minutes. Switch it off afterwards and allow
the motor to cool down before switching it
on again.
Positioning the slicer
Take the end-piece holder and the
sliding tray from their accessory storage
compartments in the base of the appliance.
Unwind the power cord completely
and ensure that it leads through the
corresponding recess.
Place the slicer on a fi rm, level surface.
Bring the slicer assembly (consisting of the
stop plate and blade) into a vertical position;
ensure that the hooks are heard safely
locking into place. To unlock, push the slide
lock to the back.
Fitting the sliding tray
Tilt up the fi nger guard on the sliding tray. Now
hold the sliding tray vertically next to the
base plate in such a way that the guide rail
on the sliding tray fi ts underneath the base
plate. Pull the tray sideways and upwards
so that the rail slips into the guide track
underneath the base plate, and then fold the
tray 90° upwards to lock it into the track. The
tray is now securely fi tted in the base plate
track.
Adjusting the thickness
The thickness of the slices is infi nitely
adjustable by means of the selection knob.
Always bring the stop plate back to its rest
(zero) position after use.
Safety switch
To activate the motor, fi rst press and hold the
release button, then press the push switch,
which will lock in the operating position.
To stop the motor, press the push switch
again.
Slicing
Following the above safety instructions, the
slicer can now be operated.
∙ Adjust the desired thickness of the slices.
∙ Use the right hand to place the food to be
sliced on to the sliding tray and to press it
against the stop plate.
∙ Fit the end piece holder, with the studded
side facing the blade, on to the tray.
∙ Use the left hand to press the release
button and, almost simultaneously, the
push switch, and then move the sliding
tray against the rotating blade. At the
same time, press the end piece holder
containing the food lightly against the
blade.
∙ The end piece holder ensures the food
will be held safely while slicing takes
place.
∙ For safety reasons, always bring the stop
plate back to its rest (zero) position after
use so that it is fl ush with the blade.
