Take the mobile telephone to a distance
approximately 10 metres away from the
vehicle.
Installing the snap-in
adapter to the vehicle
Principle
Connect the snap-in adapter to the vehicle.
The phone book is shown on the Control Dis‐
play and the front hands-free system can be
used.
Operating requirements
The Bluetooth passkey, see page 139, on
the back of the snap-in adapter is known.
The snap-in adapter is inserted in the cen‐
tre armrest.
The ignition is switched on.
The SIM card is inserted into the snap-in
adapter or the SIM Access Profile (SAP) is
active.
Installing the snap-in adapter to the
vehicle
Activate the Bluetooth connection, see
page 85, in the vehicle. Up to four devices, in‐
cluding the handset can be connected.
On the Control Display:
1.
"Settings"
2.
"Connections"
3.
"Bluetooth"
All connected mobile telephones are listed.
4.
"Add new device"
5.
Press button on snap-in adapter
for approximately 3 seconds.
The LED through the button flashes green.
6.
Enter the Bluetooth passkey of the snap-in
adapter on the Control Display.
7.
Select desired functions:

Rear telephone
"Telephone 1"
"Telephone 2"
"Data transfer"

Connecting the handset
Principle
To be able to use the handset, it must be con‐
nected to the snap-in adapter. The handset is
already connected at the factory. The connec‐
tion is set up automatically each time the
handset is switched on. Ensure that the battery
on the rear of the handset is correctly inserted.
Note
The re-registration of the handset is therefore
only needed with a new handset.
Operating requirements
The Bluetooth passkey, see page 139, on
the back of the snap-in adapter is known.
The snap-in adapter is inserted in the cen‐
tre armrest.
The ignition is switched on.
The SIM card is inserted into the snap-in
adapter.
Connecting the handset
On the Control Display:
1.
Press button on snap-in adapter
for approximately 7 seconds.
The LED above the button flashes yellow.
2.
Switch on the handset.

4.
"Ok"
5.
"GSM-SIA BMW"
6.
"Ok"
