Note: If you enter the HLS Playback URL in a browser you will only get a listing of all of
the HLS .ts segments. If you put the URL into the Bitmovin player, for example, you get
the actual HLS stream when you navigate to the Bitmovin HTML page.
Note: When a Publishing Point has been entered, and the channel has been
activated, selecting the Output Preview icon
link. The QR code is valid for HLS and DASH output to the Local Origin Server or a File
Server with a Publishing Point, but not for CDN output. See
the Channel
File Server

File Path—Specify a folder path location on your File Server to act as the root for
the package files. Files are written to a folder at this location with the Channel
Name, for example:
\\[FileServer]\[Shared Location]\<channel name>
or
D:\[File Server Root]\<channel name>

Publishing Point—The URL where the package can be accessed. Publishing Point
allows the user to specify a base URL so that packages published to a third party
file server can be accessed via that URL.

Publishing Point—The URL where the package can be accessed. Publishing Point
allows the user to specify a base URL so that packages published to a CDN can be
accessed via that URL.
The HLS Publishing Point will have the following form:
http://post.<host name>/<stream id>
For example, when Akamai is the CDN, and if your Host Name is MyHostName
and your Stream ID is 123456, the HLS Publishing Point will be—
http://post.MyHostName-i.akamaihd.net/123456
The HLS Playback URL will have the following form:
http://<host name>/hls/live/<stream id>/<channel name>/<channel name>-
<variant name>/playlist.m3u8
The DASH Publishing Point will have the following form:
http://post.<stream id>.<dash publish entry point>/dash/<stream id>
For example, when Akamai is the CDN, and if your Host Name is MyHostName
and your Stream ID is 123456, the DASH Publishing Point will be—
http://post.123456.MyHostName.r.akamaientrypoint.net/dash/123456
The DASH Playback URL will have the following form:
http://<host name>/dash/live/<stream id>/<channel name>/dashakamai/
