Special Playback

Resume Playback

You can play from where you last stopped playback.

During playback, press [ C].
• The resume message will appear.
Resume ON

Press [ B].
• In a few seconds, playback will resume from the point at
which it last stopped. You can resume playback at the same
point even if you switch the unit to standby mode.
• To cancel the resume playback and start playing the disc
from the beginning, press [ C] again while the playback is
stopped.
Note(s)
• For JPEG files, playback will resume from the beginning of the
file at which play was stopped.

Fast Forward / Fast Reverse Playback

During playback, press [ D] or [E ].
• Every time you press [ D] or [E ], approximate speed will
be changed as follows.
40x 20x 5x
• Fast forward or fast reverse playback across titles (for DVD)
is not possible.
• For audio CDs, approximate speed is fixed at 8x with sound
(indicated with /

Press [ B] to return to the normal playback.

• Forward/reverse speed will be indicated with icons as follows.

Skipping TV Commercials during
Playback
You can skip TV commercials to enjoy the recorded programs
without interruption.

During playback, press [CM SKIP].
• Normal playback will start at 30 seconds ahead from the
point you press [CM SKIP].
• Every time you press [CM SKIP], the searching point will be
extended by 30 seconds ahead.
• You can press [CM SKIP] up to 6 times (180 seconds).
(e.g., Press [CM SKIP] once.)

Playback will return to the normal playback.

Rapid Playback

Rapid playback function is only available during playback.
This function is only available on discs recorded in the Dolby
Digital format, and plays in a slightly faster/slower speed while

keeping the sound quality just as normal playback.

During playback, press [RAPID PLAY].
Press [RAPID PLAY] once during playback.
Bx0.8:
Plays approximately at 0.8 times of normal
playback.
Press [RAPID PLAY] twice during playback.
Bx1.3:
Plays approximately at 1.3 times of normal
playback.
Press [RAPID PLAY] 3 times to play in
Bx1:
normal speed. No effects.

Press [ B] to return to the normal playback.
Note(s)
• Audio (language) setting cannot be changed while using this
mode.
• This feature may not work at some points on a disc.
• Audio is PCM during rapid playback mode except when using
digital audio connection.
• When using digital audio connection (COAXIAL), the LPCM
sound (2 channel) will be output.
