I went to change the collett but it won't loosen. How do i fix this?

To fix a stuck collet on a Performax 241-0967:
1. Turn the switch OFF and disconnect the tool from the power source. 2. Depress the spindle lock button and slowly turn the collet nut until the spindle locks. 3. While holding the spindle lock button down, turn the collet nut counterclockwise until the collet becomes loose.
Do not tighten the collet nut without an accessory installed, as this may damage the collet.
