1. INSTALLATION

The unit mounts via a 'u' shaped
strap and can be orientated in both
azimuth and elevation. The fixing
centres of the strap are quoted on
the catalogue sheet. When fixed in
position the units' alignment can be
adjusted by loosening the two M6
screws, which fasten the strap to
the speaker. The speaker can then
be adjusted to the required position
and the screws tightened.
1.1 To Remove End Cover
Remove the 6 off M5 cover screws
(EExd version) or 2 off M5 cover
screws (EExde version).
Cable termination should be in ac-
cordance with specifications ap-
plying to the application. MEDC
recommend that all cables and
cores should be fully identified.
Ensure that only the correct certi-
fied glands are used and that the
assembly is shrouded and correctly
earthed.
1.2 General
When installing and operating
explosion-proof electrical equip-
ment, the relevant national regula-
tions for installation and operation
(e.g. IEE Wiring Regulations) must
be observed.
Ensure that all nuts, bolts and fix-
ings are secure.
Ensure that only the correct certified
stopping plugs are used to blank
off unused gland entry points. We
recommend the use of 'HYLOMAR
PL32 COMPOUND' on the threads
of the stopping plugs in order to
maintain the IP rating of the unit.

2. OPERATION

The speaker is available in 4
standard wattage ratings (see
catalogue sheet) and in EExd or
EExde versions.
Different sound levels can be ob-
tained by selecting the transformer
tappings in the unit. These tappings
are listed in the catalogue sheet.

de l'étrier et peut être orienté dans
tous les sens. L'entraxe des trous
est indiqué sur la fiche technique
du catalogue. Une fois installé,
l'orientation peut être modifiée
en desserrant les deux vis M6 qui
maintiennent l'étrier sur le haut-
parleur. Lorsque le haut-parleur
est correctement orienté, resserrer
les deux vis.
1.1 Dépose du couvercle
Démonter les six vis M5 (version
EExd) ou les deux vis M5 (version
EExde).
La connexion des câbles doit se
faire conformément aux spécifica-
tions pertinentes. MEDC recom-
mande d'identifier clairement tous
les câbles et fils.
Vérifier que les presse-étoupe du
type correct sont utilisés et que
l'ensemble est protégé et correcte-
ment relié à la terre.
1.2 Généralités
Pour toute installation et mise en
œuvre d'un équipement électrique
antidéflagrant, la réglementation
nationale en vigueur (par exemple
Règlements IEE) doit être respectée.
Vérifier que les écrous, boulons et
fixations sont correctement serrés.
Vérifier que les points d'entrée non
utilisés sont obturés par des bou-
chons certifiés du type correct. Afin
de garantir le maintien du niveau
de classification IP, nous recom-
mandons d'enduire le filetage des
bouchons de HYLOMAR PL32.
2. FONCTIONNEMENT
Le haut-parleur est proposé en
quatre puissances standard (voir
catalogue) et en versions EExd
ou EExde.
Différents niveaux sonores peuvent
être obtenus en sélectionnant dif-
férentes prises sur le transformateur.
Ces prises sont indiquées sur la
fiche technique du catalogue.

Das Bauteil wird mit Hilfe eines U-
Bügels befestigt und kann sowohl
azimutal als auch in Bezug auf die
Höhe ausgerichtet werden. Die
Befestigungsmittelpunkte des U-
Bügels sind auf dem Katalogblatt
angegeben. Wenn die Bauteile an
ihrem Platz befestigt sind, kann die
Ausrichtung durch Lösen der bei-
den M6 Schrauben eingestellt
werden, mit denen der Bügel am
Lautsprecher befestigt ist. Dadurch
lässt sich der Lautsprecher in die
gewünschte Stellung bringen, und
die Schrauben können wieder an-
gezogen werden.
1.1 Entfernung der Endabdeckung
Die sechs M5 Deckelschrauben (bei
der EExd-Ausführung) bzw. die bei-
den M5 Deckelschrauben (bei der
EExde-Ausführung) entfernen.
Der Kabelendverschluss ist in
Übereinstimmung mit den für die
Anwendung geltenden Spezifika-
tionen durchzuführen. MEDC
empfiehlt, alle Kabel und Adern
vollständig zu kennzeichnen.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass nur An-
schlussstutzen mit der richtigen
Zertifizierung benutzt werden und
das Gerät abgeschirmt und richtig
geerdet ist.
1.2 Allgemeines
Bei Installation und Betrieb explo-
sionsgeschützter elektrischer Ein-
richtungen sind die entsprechenden
landesspezifischen Regelungen be-
treffs Installation und Betrieb (z.B.
die Installationsvorschriften der
Vereinigung der Elektroingenieure
in Großbritannien) zu beachten.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle Mut-
tern, Schrauben und Befestigungs-
elemente fest sitzen.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass zum Ver-
schließen unbenutzter Anschluss-
stutzen-Öffnungen nur Verschluss-
stopfen mit der richtigen Zertifi-
zierung verwendet werden. Wir
