FAQ
SMCWBR14S-N4
4. How can I forward ports?
In certain situations you might need to open some TCP/UDP ports in the SMCWBR14S-N4
router to allow remote users to connect to a server in your LAN. The next example shows how
to configure the router to allow FTP access to an FTP server located in the LAN behind the
router with the IP address 192.168.2.101.
Login to the router web management interface (http://192.168.2.1) with the administrator
credentials (default user: admin, default password: smcadmin). Go to the submenu
Firewall/Virtual Server. Enter the information requested in the form. Some protocols are
already pre-configured and the ports are already assigned, you only need to enter the IP
address of your LAN server. For those that are not pre-defined, you need to select the port
type and number, and the IP address of your LAN server. Use the Comment Field to describe
the type of service for your reference. In this case it could be added "FTP SERVER". Click
Apply to create a new service or port to open.
