Recording, documentation and publication of assessment decisions
The Secretary to the Programme Examiners' Meeting is responsible for ensuring
that the decisions of the meeting are recorded accurately. The Examination
Representative is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of marks and results
submitted to the Examinations Office. The Examinations Officer is responsible
for ensuring that the decisions of Faculty Examiners' Meetings are recorded
accurately and for ensuring the accuracy of marks and results entered on the
University's student record system. The University's student record system is
backed-up on a daily basis.
Overall results for Final Examinations are normally published within the
University and via the student web portal. Overall results and marks for Parts 1
and 2 are disclosed to students individually via the student web portal.
Students who have achieved a result of failed, not qualified, deemed not to have
sat, or no recommendation are sent a letter or email advising them of their result
and specifying, as appropriate, the arrangements for further examinations to
which they might be entitled, the termination of their registration or other action
which they might be required to take.

academic judgement of examiners, except where there are grounds for believing
that a decision has been perverse.
Such requests for review of results are considered by the Senate Standing
Committee on Examination Results. The procedures of the Committee are
available on the Examinations Office website.
Requests for review of procedural irregularities in relation to module marks (or
equivalent) are considered initially by the School Director of Teaching and
Learning responsible for the module, and, in the event that the student believes
the request has not been adequately addressed, by the Teaching and Learning
Dean, and, in the event that the student believes the request has not been
adequately addressed at that stage, by a Pro-Vice-Chancellor. The procedures
for the review of procedural irregularities in relation to module marks (or
equivalent) are available on the Examinations Office website.
