Economical Operation

Fuel economy is dependent largely on
your style of driving.
How you drive, where you drive and
when you drive affect how many
kilometers you can get from a litre of
fuel.
To obtain maximum fuel economy:
• Accelerate slowly.
• Avoid unnecessary idling.
• Keep the engine properly tuned.
• Do not race the engine.
• Use the air conditioning only when
necessary.
• Slow down when driving on rough
roads.
• Keep the tires inflated to the
recommended pressure.
• Maintain a safe distance from other
vehicles to avoid a collision in case of
sudden stops. This will also reduce
wear on the brake pads and linings.
• Do not carry unnecessary weight.
• Do not rest your foot on the brake
pedal while driving and follow the
maintenance schedule.

Hazardous Driving

When hazardous driving is encountered
due to water, snow, ice, mud, sand, or
similar conditions:
• Slow down your vehicle and drive
cautiously allowing extra distance for
braking.
• Avoid sudden manoeuvres when
braking, steering or accelerating.
• When braking, press the brake pedal
with a light, up-and-down motion
until the vehicle is stopped (Unless
equipped with ABS).
• If stuck in snow, mud or sand, use
second gear to avoid spinning of front
wheels.
