Chapter 2: Installation
1. Plug the IEC end of the power cord in to the AC outlet.
For installations outside of the United States and Canada, obtain a power cord for your
local configuration.
2. Plug the power cord from the computer into an outlet on the UPS if a UPS is available.
A UPS provides a temporary electrical supply to a computer for several minutes,
depending on the number of components connected to the UPS. For a CMS computer, a
1.5KVA minimum is required for each power supply. See your UPS documentation to
determine the projected amount of backup battery time for your model. If the system is
without power for longer than the backup time, the system may shut down improperly, and
the customer could lose data.
If a UPS is not being used, you must use a grounded outlet on a minimum 15-amp circuit.
