ADJUSTMENT
OF
LEVEL
BALANCE AMONG
FOUR
CHANNELS
1.
Set the VOLUME control
to
a normal level
for
your
listening.
2.
Depress
the REAR button
of
the
speaker switches to
keep
the
speakers
(
CH.
1
and
CH.
3
) in
the
front
operating.
Turn the FRONT LEFT-RIGHT
BALANCE
control in either way to
balance
the level between the
left
and
right
speakers.
After
the level balance
for front
speaker systems has been
adjusted, depress
the REAR button once
again
to return
it
to
ON and
depress
the FRONT button
to
keep
the
speakers
(CH.
2
and CH.
4) in
the rear operating. Turn
the
REAR LEFT-RIGHT BALANCE controi
in
either
way
to
balance
the level
between
the left
and right
speakers.
After
the
level balance
for
the
speaker systems
in the
rear
has been adjusted, depress
the FRONT button once
again
to
return
it to
ON. Then, turn the
FRONT-REAR
BALANCE control
in
either way
to
balance
the
level
between
the
speakers
in the front
and rear.
FM
RECEPTION
1.
Set
the SELECTOR switch to FM AUTO.
2.
Set
the MODE switch
to
2 CH. STEREO.
3.
Push
the FM MUTING switch down
to
ON.
If
a
signal
is
extremely weak,
leave
the switch kept to OFF.
4.
Turn the TUNING knob
to
tune
in
the
desired station
while
watching
the pointer
deflection
in
the
tuning
indicator.
Best
reception is cbtained when the pointer of
the lower
meter deflects
to
the extrerne right, while
the
pointer
of
the upper one indicates the center of the
scale.
When the tuned-in
FM
station
is
broadcasting
an
FM
stereo
program, the FM stereo indicator lights.
5.
After the FM
station has been tuned
in,
turn
the
VOLUME control
to
increase
the volume in the way you
want and
adjust
the
BASS and TREBLE controls to
obtain the most pleasing tone.
6.
When you want
to
enjoy the
4-channel stereo converted
from
2-channel progTam through the use
of
the QUAD-
RALIZER circuit, set
the
MODE switch
to
QUAD-
RALIZER
and set the
QUADRALIZER
select
switch to
either
MATRIX or
PHASE SHIFT. When an FM mono
program
is
received,
set the MODE switch
to 2
CH.
STEREO.
o If
your
area
is far away from FM station or
recep-
tion
is noisy, setting the
SELECTOR switch
to
FM
MONO may eliminate
the
noise. With the
SELEC-
TOR switch
set
to FM MONO,
an
FM
stereo
program
is
received
as
an
FM MONO program.
NOTE:
lf
you
desire
to
take
more
accurate level
balance
among
speaker
systems, use
of
a
separately
available
PIONEER
Audio
Display
SD-1000
is
recommended.
SD-1000. equipped
with
built-in oscilloscope
and
audio
oscillator,
provides
a
high
degree
of
versatility
in
measuring
{or
easier
observation
o{ output
waveforms
and
in
measuring
output frequency
characteristics, etc.
