5.6 Zusätzliche Gongtaste
Um den Gong auch auf Distanz zum Verstärker aus-
lösen zu können, sind Anschlüsse für einen Taster
vorhanden. Den Taster mit den Schraubanschlüs-
sen (42) GND und CHIME verbinden.
5.7 Versorgungsspannung
Erst nachdem alle anderen Komponenten verbun-
den sind, den Verstärker über die Netzbuchse (35)
mit dem beiliegenden Netzanschlußkabel an eine
Steckdose (230 V~/50 Hz) anschließen.
6 Bedienung des Verstärkers
6.1 Einschalten/Kanäle mischen/Gong
1) Vor dem Einschalten den Regler MASTER (8) auf
Null stellen. Dann erst den Verstärker mit der
Taste POWER (21) einschalten. Zur Betriebskon-
trolle leuchtet die rote LED (10). Nach dem Ein-
schalten leuchtet für ca. 5 Sekunden die gelbe
LED PROTECT (9). In dieser Zeit ist die Ein-
schaltverzögerung zum Schutz der Lautsprecher
aktiviert.
2) Den Regler MASTER (8) etwas aufdrehen, so
daß die weiteren Einstellungen gut zu hören sind.
3) Mit den Mischregler CD (6), CH 1 und CH 2 (18)
die Lautstärke der einzelnen Kanäle untereinan-
der einstellen. Die Regler der Kanäle, die nicht
benutzt werden, immer auf Null drehen.
Kein Ton hörbar?
A Wenn zur Fernreglung der Lautstärke ein zusätz-
licher Regler angeschlossen ist, muß am Gerät
der Regler MASTER (8) auf die maximal ge-
wünschte Lautstärke gestellt werden. Anschlie-
ßend mit dem Fernregler die Lautstärke wählen.
B Ist kein Fernregler angeschlossen, muß die
Brücke (40) zwischen den Schraubanschlüssen
„+10 V" und „C" vorhanden sein. Fehlt die
Brücke, muß eine eingesetzt werden, sonst bleibt
die Master-Lautstärke auf Null.
5.6 Additional chime button
To be able to activate the chime even at a distance
towards the amplifier, connections for a momentary
push button are provided. Connect the momentary
push button with the screw connections (42) GND
and CHIME.
5.7 Supply voltage
Only after the connection of all component units,
connect the amplifier via the mains jack (35) with the
enclosed mains cable to a socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
6 Operation of the Amplifier
6.1 Switching-on/mixing of channels/chime
1) Prior to switching-on set the control MASTER (8)
to zero. Only then switch on the amplifier with the
button POWER (21). As a control the red LED
(10) is lighting. After switching-on, the yellow LED
PROTECT (9) is lighting for approx. 5 seconds. In
this time the speaker switch-on delay for the pro-
tection of the speakers is activated.
2) Slightly turn up the control MASTER (8), so that
the further adjustments can well be heard.
3) With the mixing control CD (6), CH 1 and CH 2
(18) adjust the volume of the individual channels
among each other. Always turn to zero the con-
trols of the channels which are not used.
There is no sound?
A If an additional control is connected for the
remote control of the volume, the control
MASTER (8) at the unit must be set to the max.
desired volume. Then select the volume with the
remote control.
B If no remote control has been connected, the
jumper (40) between the screw connections
"+10 V" and "C" must be provided. If not, it must
be inserted, otherwise the master volume
remains at zero.

D Leuchtet die gelbe LED PROTECT (9), ist die
Schutzschaltung aktiviert und es liegt ein Fehler

4) Wenn sich die Lautstärke der beiden Kanäle
CH 1 und CH 2 mit den Reglern (18) nicht richtig
angleichen läßt, mit den Verstärkungsvorreglern
GAIN (31+ 33) auf der Geräterückseite eine
Anpassung vornehmen.
5) Mit den Reglern BASS und TREBLE (20) den
Klang einstellen.
6) Die endgültige Lautstärke für alle Kanäle zusam-
men mit dem Regler MASTER (8) wählen (oder
ggf. mit dem Fernregler). Eventuell die Einstel-
lung der Misch- (6 +18) und Klangregler (20) kor-
rigieren. Wenn die rote LED CLIP von VU-Meter
(7) aufleuchtet, den Regler MASTER etwas zu-
rückdrehen.
7) Vor einer Durchsage kann der Gong mit der Taste
CHIME (19) aktiviert werden. Das Verhältnis der
Gonglautstärke zu den anderen Kanälen mit dem
Regler CHIME LEVEL (26) auf der Geräterück-
seite einstellen.
6.2 Dynamikkompressor einstellen
CDs sind mit einem besonders großen Dynamikum-
fang aufgenommen (Dynamik = Verhältnis der leise-
sten Passage zur lautesten). Für ELA-Anlagen ist
jedoch ein kleinerer Dynamikumfang vorteilhafter.
Der integrierte Dynamikkompressor reduziert die
Dynamik auf einen günsteren Wert. Mit dem Regler
COMPRESSOR (39) auf der Geräterückseite ist der
Kompressor einstellbar (THRESHOLD = Lautstär-
keschwelle, bei welcher der Kompressor einsetzt):
In Position MIN. wird die Dynamik am stärksten
begrenzt, d. h. der Dynamikumfang ist gering.
In Position MAX. wird die Dynamik am geringsten
begrenzt, d. h. der Dynamikumfang ist größer.
C The selector switch OUTPUT (38) for the speaker

D If the yellow LED PROTECT (9) is lighting, the
protection circuit is activated, and there is an
error – see chapter 6.4 "Protection circuit".
4) If the volume of both channels CH 1 and CH 2
cannot correctly be matched with the controls
(18), align it with the presets GAIN (31 + 33) at
the rear side of the unit.
5) Adjust the tone with the controls BASS and
TREBLE (20).
6) Select the ultimate volume for all channels in
common with the controls MASTER (8) (or with
the remote control). Correct the adjustment of the
mixing (6 + 18) or tone (20) controls, if necessary.
If the red LED CLIP of the VU meter (7) lights up,
slightly turn back the control MASTER.
7) Prior to an announcement the chime may be
activated with the button CHIME (19). Adjust the
relation of the chime volume to the other chan-
nels with the control CHIME LEVEL (26) at the
rear side of the unit.
6.2 Adjusting the dynamic compressor
CDs have been recorded with an especially large
dynamic extent (dynamic range = relation of the
lowest passages to the loudest). However, for PA
systems a minor dynamic extent is more advanta-
geous. The integrated dynamic compressor reduces
the dynamic range to a more favourable value. With
the control COMPRESSOR (39) at the rear side of
the unit the compressor can be adjusted (THRESH-
OLD = volume threshold at which the compressor is
starting the operation):
In position MIN the dynamic range is limited in the
max. way, i. e. the dynamic extent is low.
In position MAX the dynamic range is only slightly
limited, i. e. the dynamic extent is larger.
6.3 Automatische Ausblendung bei Mikrofon-
durchsagen
Um Durchsagen über ein Mikrofon besser verständ-
lich zu machen, kann die Lautstärke der anderen
Kanäle automatisch abgesenkt werden.
1) Den entsprechende Schalter PRIORITY drücken.
Schalter (47), wenn das Durchsagemikrofon am
Kanal CH 2 angeschlossen ist, bzw. Schalter (50)
bei Kanal CH 1.
2) Die entsprechenden DIP-Schalter MUTE LEVEL
(32 bzw. 34) nach Abb. 3 auf den Wert einstellen,
um den die andern Kanäle abgesenkt werden
sollen:

3) Mit dem Regler AUTO MUTE (44) auf der Ge-
räterückseite den Lautstärkewert einstellen, bei
dem die Lautstärkeabsenkung ansprechen soll:
In Position MAX. werden nur bei lauten Durch-
sagen die anderen Kanäle abgesenkt.
In Position MIN. werden schon bei leisen Durch-
sagen die anderen Kanäle abgesenkt.
6.4 Schutzschaltung
Zum Schutz der angeschlossenen Lautsprecher ist
eine Schutzschaltung integriert, die anspricht, wenn
ein Fehler vorliegt und für kurze Zeit nach dem Ein-
schalten. Die LED PROTECT (9) leuchtet:
1. ca. 5 Sekunden lang nach dem Einschalten (Ein-
schaltverzögerung)
2. wenn am Lautsprecherausgang (38) eine Gleich-
spannung anliegt
3. wenn der Lautsprecherausgang (38) kurzge-
schlossen ist
4. wenn der Verstärker überhitzt ist
5. wenn eine interne Versorgungsspannung fehlt
Liegt ein Fehler vor, den Verstärker ausschalten und
den Fehler beseitigen lassen. Bei Überhitzung muß
für eine bessere Belüftung des Verstärkers gesorgt
werden, z. B. Lüftungsschlitze nicht verdecken, Ab-

announcements
For a better intelligibility of a microphone announce-
ment, the volume of the other channels may auto-
matically be attenuated.
1) Push the corresponding switch PRIORITY. Switch
(47), if the microphone for announcements has
been connected at the channel CH 2, resp.
switch (50) with channel CH 1.
2) Adjust the corresponding DIP switches MUTE
LEVEL (32 resp. 34) according to fig. 3 to the
value by which the other channels are to be

3) Adjust the volume level with the control AUTO
MUTE (44) at the rear side of the unit at which the
volume attenuation is to respond:
In position MAX. only with loud announcements

In position MIN. already with low announcements
the other channels are attenuated.
6.4 Protection circuit
To protect the connected speakers, a protection cir-
cuit has been integrated which responds if an error
occurs and for a short time after switching-on. The
LED PROTECT (9) lights up:
1. For approx. 5 seconds after switching-on (soft
start)
2. If there is a direct voltage at the speaker output (38)
3. If the speaker output (38) is short-circuited
4. If the amplifier is overheated
5. If there is no internal supply voltage
In case of an error, switch off the amplifier and have
the error removed. In case of overheating the venti-
lation of the amplifier must be improved, e. g. ensure
that the ventilation slots are not covered, increase
the distance to other heat-radiating units, use a fan
with rack installation.
