    4. Commissioning 4.1 Network Environment The Octopus Net can be used in network environments with LAN, WLAN and PowerLan.     • 20 pin Connector for ribbon cable 4.2.3 Mixed configuration The modular design of the Octopus NET also enables a combination of DVB-S2, DVB-C/C2 and DVB-T/T2 tuners in the same device. Since the DuoFlex extension is a twin tuner, 2 DVB-S2 and 2 DVB-C/C2/T/T2 tuner are configurable.

    Connect a LAN port of the Octopus Net with a network cable, which is connected to the home network (router / switch / access point). Hence, the Octopus Net automatically obtains an IP address, a DHCP server must be active on the network.

    Connect the output of an antenna socket or a DVB-T/T2 antenna via an appropriate antenna cable to the input of the Octopus Net Twin tuner card (IEC socket). The output of the twin- tuner card (IEC connector) can be used to supply additional devices (eg TV or Digital Devices products) if the Octopus NET is in operation.

    5.4.3.3 Unicable® Settings Unicable® is only available if a DVB-S2 Model is used. For the support of Unicable® setting in the menu “Unicable Settings”, Unicable-compatible hardware (Unicable® LNB and / or Unicable® switch) required. For the installation of these additional components please use manuals respective manufacturer.

    5.4.3.4 CI Settings The CI in your Octopus Net can be used with any program (client), which call RTSP links with M3U lists. In the RTSP links is determined whether a transmitter should be decrypted with an existing CI.

CI1 / CI2: If you have multiple CIs inside your Octopus Net (two at maximum, e.g.  Octopus Net rack) and different encryption methods (e.g. SKY and ORF) have to be applied, you can specify the CI with the respective encryption method.

    Install on your tablet / smartphone, the latest version of the "Elgato SAT>IP" app. When you launch first time the app it will automatically detects the Octopus Net. After a channel scan (menu item: Settings - Search stations ") are all found unencrypted SD channels in the app usable.
  • Page 30 Example of a configuration under Windows XP / 7 / 8 for the software Digital Devices TV: The Software Digital Devices TV come for free with the Octopus Net. After installing the Digital Devices TV software, open the "Settings / Options" menu and select the "Hardware".

    5.5.4 Access via Hardware Client You can use various SAT> IP-capable receivers from different manufacturers as a hardware client with the Octopus Net.     Several Octopus Net network tuner can be active in one network. 5.6.3 StandBy Mode The Octopus Net has a power saving function. If no tuner in used, the Octopus Net has a power consumption about 3,5 Watt. 6. Hardware modification The Octopus Net can optionally extended or upgraded depending on the model.

The extension is immediately recognized by the Octopus Net after a start without any additional configuration. However, you may need to make adjustments to unicable (only DVB- S/S2).
