10GBASE-X Ports 10/100/1000 Ethernet Ports Depending on the model, the S2500 is equipped with 24 or 48 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45) ports. Gigabit Ethernet uses all eight wires and each pair is used in a bi-directional fashion, meaning the same pairs are used for both data transmission and reception.

15.4 W of DC power, and IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+), supplying up to 30.0 W of DC power to connected devices, but the power per port is subject to the total power available in the chassis. For more information on PoE and S2500 Power Supplies, see “Power Supply” on page 18.
In addition to the LEDs on each individual port, there are three additional LEDs on the front panel that provide overall status of the device. These LEDs provide basic monitoring of the overall status of the S2500. Table 6 Power/Status and Stack LEDs...
Linecard (Stack Member) LCD Panel The S2500 is equipped with an LCD panel that displays a variety of information about the mobility access switch’s status and provides a menu that allows for basic operations such as initial setup and reboot. The LCD panel displays two lines of text with a maximum of 16 characters on each line.

EXIT MAINTENANCE Disabling the LCD Screen By default, the LCD screen is enabled. However, if your S2500 is deployed in a location without physical security, the LCD screen can be disabled through the CLI. When disabled, pushing one of the navigation buttons will only illuminate the screen and display the slot, role, device name, and any alarms.
Uplink Ports Each S2500 is equipped with four 10GBASE-X ports. These ports are intended for use with Aruba supported SFPs/SFP+. These ports can be used as uplink ports or a combination of two uplink ports and two stacking ports. By default, Ports 0 and 1 are configured as uplink ports and Ports 2 and 3 are configured as ArubaStack ports.
Rear Panel The rear panel of the Aruba S2500 mobility access switch consists of the following components: 10/100/1000BASE-T Management port RJ-45 Console port USB 2.0 interface Mini USB console port Shutdown LED Power Connector ...
If you are connected using the Mini USB connector and the RJ-45 Console Port, the Mini USB connection will take priority. Mini USB Driver To use the Mini USB console port, you must install the Aruba Mini USB driver on the computer that will manage your S2500. To download the driver: 1. Go to https://support.arubanetworks.com.
If the temperature of the S2500 exceeds the temperature threshold, the SHUTDOWN LED turns on and the S2500 shutsdown to protect itself from damage. The CPU threshold is 212 ºF (100 ºC). To check the temperature of the chassis at anytime, scroll to the Environmental screen under the Status menu on LCD.
PoE. The S2500-P models support PoE (802.3af) and PoE+ (802.3at) to provide power to connected devices. PoE/ PoE+ is enabled by default to provide plug and play capability for PoE capable devices. The S2500 has three PoE Management Modes: Dynamic Mode: This the default mode.
Aruba SFP+, 10GBASE-LRM, 1310nm serial pluggable SFP+ optic, LC Connector Direct Attach Cables Direct attach cables (DACs) are used to connect one S2500 with another when forming a stack. DACs are installed in an uplink port in the same manner as an SFP module, using the 10GBASE-X Ports. For information on how to install an SFP or a DAC, see “Installing a Direct Attach Cable”...
This chapter describes how to install an Aruba S2500 mobility access switch using the many mounting options available. The S2500 ships with an accessory kit that includes the equipment required to install the mobility access switch in standard, two-point 19-inch telco rack. Additional mounting options are sold separately.
Limited electromagnetic interference For best operation, keep the S2500 and all cords and cables at least 0.7 meters (2 feet) from fluorescent lighting fixtures, and 2 meters (6 feet) from photocopiers, radio transmitters, electric generators, and other sources of strong electromagnetic interference.

4. Align the mounting bracket holes with the holes you created in the wall as shown in Figure 5. Use appropriate screws to secure your S2500. 6. Connect the AC power cord to the rear of the unit. | Installation...
Connecting the AC Power Cord Once you have installed the S2500, you are ready to power on the device. The S2500 is not equipped with an On/Off switch. The device will turn on when the AC power cord has been connected to the power supply module and an AC power outlet.
3. Lower the power cord retaining clip over the AC power cord. The S2500 should now be receiving power. Since the S2500 does not have an On/Off switch, you must use the power cord to turn the device on an off. To turn the device off: 1.
