Taking pictures with the Touched Area in Focus
(Touch AF Area Selection)
Recording Mode:
You can adjust the focus to the place on the screen you touch.

Touch AF Area Selection may not be effective in the following cases.
• When the subject is too small
• When the subject is moving quickly
• When there are other subjects or a background of similar color as the subject
• When the camera is shaking
If Touch AF Area Selection fails, the AF area blinks red and then goes out. Try touching
the screen again.
If Touch AF Area Selection does not work, [AF MODE] will record with
focusing).
During [INTELLIGENT AUTO] Mode, the camera will determine the touched subject to
be the optimal scene.
Touch AF Area Selection will not work in the following cases.
• Scene Modes [STARRY SKY], [FIREWORKS]
• Motion Picture Recording Mode

Touch the subject
• When the subject is recognized, the AF area
is displayed and the camera focuses.
• If
is touched, Touch AF Area Selection is
canceled.
• Focusing may not work if you touch the
edge of the screen.
Take a picture
Press halfway
(press lightly and focus)
• When the recording place is too dark
• When using zoom
Press fully

the way to record)
