Cause & solution
L When phonebook items were sent to another handset,
the handset's phonebook memory was full and copying
stopped. Press {OFF} to exit. Erase items from another
handset's phonebook (page 28). When phonebook
memory is available, you can copy all phonebook items
(page 30) or individual items one by one (page 29).
L The destination handset is out of area.
L The destination handset user may have pressed {C}
or {s}.
L There is no handset registered to the base unit
matching the extension number you entered.
L You selected your own extension number.
L You cannot rename the preset song.
L The handset you tried to call has not been registered to
the base unit. Register the handset (page 59).
L There is no space in memory to record new songs.
Erase unnecessary songs.
L Your phonebook or redial list is empty.
L Colour display models (KX-TGA582AL only):
"User data" is empty. You can download your original
data for the wallpaper and picture ID from a PC. Refer
to the help section of the GIGARANGE USB Utility
software for details.
L The handset has lost communication with the base unit.
Move closer to the base unit, and try again.
L Confirm that the base unit's AC adaptor is plugged in.
L Raise the base unit antennas.
L The handset's registration may have been cancelled.
Re-register the handset (page 59).
L You cannot erase the preset song.
L There is no space to store new items in the phonebook.
Erase unnecessary items (page 28).
L A handset button was pressed while the handset was
on the base unit or charger. Lift the handset and press
the button again.
L The handset has lost communication with the base unit.
Move closer to the base unit, and try again.
L Other units are in use and the system is busy. Try again
later.
L Another user is listening to messages. Try again later.
