1. Troubleshooting Procedures
Troubleshooting is nevereasybecausevariousproblemsarisedependingupontheparticularlocationof thebreakdown.
The followingproceduresshouldbe takenin makingrepairs.
(1) Thefirstmethodis to makerepairsthroughunitreplacements. T he twodisplaycodesappearingin theflowchat
aredefinedasfollows: @ indicatesmainlogicboardreplacement; a nd@indicatesprintermechanism replacement,
to be carriedoutif problemhas not been corrected.

Checkagainatthistimewhetherthereplacedunitis malfunctioning, (Thisis donetoruleouttroublecausedby improper
contactof connector.)
Replacxxble unitsincludethe following:
Powersupplyunit
. Mainlogicboard
. Printermechanism
In replacingtheseunits,alwaysrefer to the unitreplacementchart.
(2) The secondmethodis to makerepairsby partsreplacementtoreplacedefectiveelementsinsidea particularunit.
(Note 1) Beforestartingtorepair, be sureto checkvisuallythecontactofthe connectorand the mountingof theIC
in the IC socket.
(Note,2) Alwaystum off powersourceand removepowerplugbeforereplacingany unitsor parts.
(Note3)
All chak itemsshownin the flowchart mustbe checked.Otherwise,newlymountedparts or unitsmay
becomedarnaged.
(Note4) If, in theprocessof makingrepairs,thereis anyconfusionaboutproperprocedures,restartthejob fromthe
beginning.
(Note5) Be Carefulto avoidinjuryhorn staticelectricitywhenhandlingICSand mainlogicboard.
