Using the Safety Interlock

System

If the safety interlock switches are
disconnected or damaged, the tractor could
operate unexpectedly, causing personal
injury.
• Do not tamper with the interlock
switches.
• Check the operation of the interlock
switches daily and replace any damaged
switches before operating the tractor.
• Replace switches every 2 years regardless
of whether they are operating properly
or not.
Understanding the Safety Interlock
System
The safety interlock system is designed to prevent
the engine from starting unless:
• The clutch/brake pedal is depressed.
• The blade control (PTO) lever is in the
Disengage position.
The safety interlock system stops the engine
if you rise from the seat when you release the
clutch/brake pedal or engage the blade.
