3. Lower the rear center wheel, using the following
procedure:
A. Place the height–of–cut lever on the mower to the
position for lowest cut.
B. Remove the hairpin cotter from the wheel rod
(Fig. 22).

C. Pull the rod toward the outside of the mower, insert
the end of the rod into the hole in the height–of–cut
plate, and install the hairpin cotter into the second
hole of the wheel rod (Fig. 22).
4. Remove the clevis pins and hairpin cotters from the two
front mower wheels.
5. Turn the mower wheels parallel to the mower and
secure them with the clevis pins and hairpin cotters in
the third position from the top (Fig. 4).
6. Lower the mower until its weight is completely on its
wheels, not on the tractor.
7. Stop the engine and remove the ignition key.

8. Remove the grill.
Caution
Components under the hood will be hot if the
tractor has been running. If you touch hot
components you may be burned.
Allow the tractor to cool before performing
maintenance or touching components under the
hood.
9. Release the belt tension release arm on the pulley box to
release the tension on the drive belt (Fig. 23).

10. Remove the belt from around the PTO pulley (Fig. 24).
Additional belt slack can be obtained (if needed) by
turning the belt tension adjustment knob.
