Please read the entire instruction manual before use and
save it for future reference. We reserve the right for any
errors in text or images and for making any necessary
technical changes to this document. If you should have any
questions concerning technical problems please contact our
Customer Services.
1. Safety
Read the player's operating instructions and warning text
before you beginning to use it.
Note the following safety symbols:
Warning! Do not open the casing!
Certain unprotected components within
the product's casing carry dangerous
currents. Contact with these can lead to
fire or give electric shocks.
On the CD player

Invisible laser beams can cause eye
damage. Do not look directly into the
laser beam or look directly at it using
an optical instrument.
1. Safety Instructions
The product should only be repaired by qualified
service technicians.
The product should not be taken apart or modified.
Do not place the product where there is a risk of it falling
into water or other liquid. Do not place any objects
which contain liquid on the product, e.g. flower vases or
fizzy drinks.
Do not disassemble the player. The laser which is used
for reading the discs can cause eye damage.
Do not insert any foreign objects into CD player.
The player is equipped with a safety device which
automatically shuts off the laser beam when CD cover is
opened. Placing metal objects or other foreign objects
into the player deactivates this safety feature.
Do not subject the player to impacts or vibrations.
Do not position the player in hot locations. The casing of
the player can be damaged by high temperatures such as
direct sunlight, radiators or leaving it in the car in summer.
Only use the player in temperatures ranging from 5ºC to
35ºC and never in places that are humid or dusty.
Protect your hearing. Listening to the player on high
volume for prolonged periods can lead to permanent
hearing loss.
Do not use the CD player while driving so that it
causes you to lose your ability to concentrate on the
surrounding traffic.

4. Batteries
Open the battery cover by sliding it in the direction of the ar-
row and lifting it up. Insert 2 x AA/LR6 batteries (not included),
according to the markings on the battery compartment.
Battery safety:
1. Always use two batteries of same type. Never mix new
and used batteries.
2. Be careful with the batteries' polarity. If one of the
batteries is inserted incorrectly it can cause leakage.
3. Do not disassemble the batteries and do not expose
them to high temperatures. Never throw batteries onto
the fire.
AC/DC adaptor
This CD/ MP3 player can also be powered by an AC/DC
adaptor (not included): 4.5 VDC 700 mA DC connector with
+ centre pin.
1. Take the batteries out of the player.
2. Plug the AC/DC adaptor into the player and then plug
the adaptor into the wall outlet.
Note: Make sure that the AC/DC adaptor has the correct
voltage and polarity before connecting it. If the voltage or
polarity is wrong the CD/MP3 player could be damaged,
which is not covered by the guarantee.
5. Using the CD/MP3 player
1. Press
(5) to open the CD door (13).
2. Push a disc onto the spindle with the label side facing
up until a click is heard.
3. Close the CD door again and connect the headphones
to the PHONES jack (3).
4. Press ►II (11) to turn on the CD player and start playing
the first track on the CD.
5. When a CD/MP3 is played, the ESP anti-shock system
comes on automatically. The letters "ESP" will flash on
the display.
6. Adjust the volume using the volume control (4).
7. Press I◄◄ or ►►I to skip to the previous/next track,
hold in one of the buttons to fast rewind/forward in the
current track.
8. Press ►II (11) once to pause the current track, press
►II once more to resume playback.
9. Press ■ (10) once to stop playback.
10. Press ■ twice to turn off the CD player.
11. Press ►II (11) to resume playback.
Note: If the player is completely turned off, the batteries
removed, or if the CD door is opened, playback resumes
from where it interrupted.
If the battery symbol
appears on the display, the batte-
ries are low. Replace the batteries or use an AC/DC adaptor
(not included).
6. Playback functions
Repeat, random, intro and programmed playback.
Repeat
To repeat a single track, press MODE until "REP 1"
appears on the display. Press ►II (11) if playback
is stopped.
To repeat the entire disc press MODE until "REP ALL"
appears on the display. Press ►II (11) if playback
is stopped.
To turn off the repeat function, press MODE until
"REP ALL" disappears from the display.
Repetition DIR (Directory)
Press MODE until "REP DIR" appears to repeat an
entire folder on an MP3 disc. The folder containing the
current track is repeated.
Random playback
Press MODE until "RND" appears on the display. Press
►II (11) for random playback.
To turn off the random function, press MODE until
"RND" disappears from the display.
Intro
Listen to the first 10 seconds of all tracks.
1. Press MODE repeatedly until INTRO appears on
the display.
2. Press ►II (11) once to begin playing the first few
seconds of each track on the disc.
3. Press MODE to return to normal playback mode.
Programmed playback
1. Press STOP ■ (10) during playback.
2. Press PROG and select the desired track using I◄◄ or
►►I. Then press PROG again.
3. Repeat step 2 to programme in more tracks.
4. Press ►II (11) to start the programmed playback.
5. To stop programmed playback, press STOP ■ (10).
7. Care and maintenance
Cleaning the pickup lens
Dust on the pickup lens can lead to hacking playback and
disturbed functioning.
Open the CD cover and blow away any dust with the
help of a spray tin filled with compressed air, normally
used for cleaning cameras and objective lenses.
There are also special CDs which can be purchased and
used for cleaning the pickup lens.
Cleaning the player
Use a soft cloth moistened with luke-warm water and
wrung out.
Never use alcohol, petrol or other strong solvents as
they can destroy the plastic surface.
It is important that no liquid comes into contact with the
CD player.
Consider this if the player is exposed to
temperature change
Condensation on the components within the laser pickup
can temporarily impair the player's functions.
Condensation can occur under certain circumstances:
When you bring the player into a warm room from
outdoors or if it is stored in a cold room which is quickly
warmed up.
During summer if you take the player to a warm or
damp place away from an air conditioned location e.g.
a car or room.
If condensation occurs:
Wait 1 – 2 hours to allow the player to adjust to the
environment's temperature before using. Open the CD
cover to quicken the process.
Warning! Do not expose the player to drops or splashes
from liquids and do not place objects containing liquids on
the player, e.g. vases or soft drinks.
Remember that the player needs ventilation to
prevent overheating.
8. Disposal
Follow local ordinances when disposing of this
product. If you are unsure of how to dispose of
this product, please contact your municipality.
