2 Traffic Policing and Traffic Shaping Configuration

2.4.1 Establishing the Configuration Task

Applicable Environment
When the traffic volume of host packets is heavy or a large number of malicious host packets
are sent, the CPU of the main control board or the LPU is affected. As a result, the operation of
the system is affected. By configuring CPCAR, you can control the traffic sent to the CPU of
the LPU or main control board to ensure stable operation of the system.

Before configuring CPCAR, complete the following tasks:

2.4.2 Configuring CPCAR

Context
Do as follows on the S9300 where CPCAR needs to be configured.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
cpcar host-packet-type [ slot slot-id ]
A CPCAR template is created for packets of a certain type and the CPCAR template view is
displayed.
If slot-id is specified, the system performs CAR for the host packets sent to the CPU of a specified
LPU; otherwise, the system performs CAR for the host packets sent to the CPU of the main
control board.
Step 3 Run:
car cir cir-value [ cbs cbs-value ]
CPCAR parameters are set.
