Recommendation

One of the toner cartridges may be damaged. Replace the toner

cartridge that matches the colour of the streak or band. (See

Replacing a toner cartridge on page 115.)

Clean all four corona wires (one for each colour) of the drum unit by

sliding the green tab. (See Cleaning the corona wires on page 102.)

Make sure each corona wire's green tab is at the home position (b).

The drum unit may be damaged. Put in a new drum unit. (See

Replacing the drum unit on page 120.)

The fuser unit may have a smudge mark. Call your Brother dealer.

One of the toner cartridges may be damaged. Replace the toner

cartridge that matches the colour of the line. (See Replacing a toner

cartridge on page 115.)

The drum unit may be damaged. Put in a new drum unit. (See

Replacing the drum unit on page 120.)

Clean all four corona wires (one for each colour) of the drum unit by

sliding the green tab. (See Cleaning the corona wires on page 102.)

Clean the laser scanner windows with a soft cloth. (See Cleaning the

laser scanner windows on page 97.)

Make sure that you use paper that meets our specifications. (See

Acceptable paper and other media on page 10.)

Make sure that the recommended paper was used.

Choose Thick paper mode in the printer driver or in the machine

Paper Type menu setting, or use thinner paper than you are currently

using. (See Paper type on page 20 and Basic tab in the Software

User's Guide on the CD-ROM.)

Change the paper to fresh, unopened paper.

Check the machine

s environment. Conditions such as high humidity

can cause hollow print. (See Choosing a location on page 48.)

Clean all four corona wires (one for each colour) of the drum unit by

sliding the green tab. (See Cleaning the corona wires on page 102.)

If the print quality has not improved, put in a new drum unit. (See

Replacing the drum unit on page 120.)

Clean the drum unit. (See Cleaning the drum unit on page 105.)

Make sure that the toner cartridges are installed properly. (See

Replacing a toner cartridge on page 115.)

One of the toner cartridges may be damaged. Identify the missing

colour and put in a new toner cartridge for the colour with the white

line. (See Replacing a toner cartridge on page 115.)

The drum unit may be damaged. Put in a new drum unit. (See

Replacing the drum unit on page 120.)
