The electronic control system indica-
tor light 7, fuel indicator light 8, cool-
ant temperature indicator/oil pressure
indicator E, engine rpm indicator
lights F, ABS indicator light H (GSX-
R1000A), LCD's and tachometer nee-
dle work as follows to confirm their
function when the ignition switch is
turned to the "ON" position.
The electronic control system indi-
cator light 7, fuel indicator light
8, coolant temperature indicator/
oil pressure indicator E and
engine rpm indicator light F come
on for 3 seconds.
The tachometer needle moves to
the full scale position and returns
to the home position.
All LCD segments appear and
then show the normal display.
If the tachometer needle does not
point to zero, follow the procedure
below to reset the tachometer.
1. Press and hold the ADJ button 1
and turn on the ignition switch.
2. Hold the ADJ button 1 for 3 – 5
seconds.
3. Release the ADJ button 1. Rap
the ADJ button twice.
NOTE: The reset procedure, from
step 1 to step 3, should be performed
within 10 seconds.
TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR LIGHT

When the turn signals are being oper-
ated either to the right or to the left,
the indicator light will blink intermit-
tently.
NOTE: If a turn signal light is not
operating properly due to bulb fila-
ment or circuit failure, the indicator
light blinks more quickly to notify the
rider of the existence of a problem.
TACHOMETER 3
The tachometer indicates the engine
speed in revolutions per minute (r/min).
GEAR POSITION INDICATOR 4
The gear position indicator indicates
gear position. This indicator displays
"0" when the transmission is in neu-
tral.
NOTE: When the display indicates
"CHEC" in the odometer display area,
the gear position indicator does not
indicate a number but indicates "–".
