ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEM
INDICATOR 7
If the electronic control system fails,
the red indicator light 7 comes on
and the display indicates "FI" or "Sd"
in the odometer display area in the
following 2 modes;
A. The display A in the odometer
display area alternately indicates
"FI" or "Sd" and the displayed
mode reading, and the red indica-
tor light 7 comes on and remains
lit. The engine may continue to
run in this mode. The display A
indicates "FI", "Sd" and the dis-
played mode repeatedly when
both fuel injection system and
steering damper system failed.
B. The display A in the odometer
display area indicates "FI" or "Sd"
continuously and the red indicator
light 7 blinks. The engine will not
run in this mode.
NOTE: The indicator displays "FI"
when the fuel injection system has
malfunction. The indicator displays
"Sd" when the steering damper sole-
noid, battery voltage and speed sen-
sor have malfunction.
The engine may continue to run in
mode A, but the engine will not run in
mode B.
NOTICE
The electronic control indicator
comes on to indicate a problem
with the electronic control system.
Riding the motorcycle with the
electronic control indicator lit can
damage the engine, transmission
and steering damper.
If the display indicates "FI" or
"Sd" and the red indicator light
comes on, have your authorized
Suzuki dealer or a qualified
mechanic inspect the electronic
control system as soon as possi-
ble.
NOTE:
If the display indicates "FI" or "Sd"
and the displayed mode alter-
nately, and the red indicator light
comes on and remains lit, keep
the engine running and bring your
motorcycle
Suzuki dealer. If the engine stalls,
try restarting the engine after turn-
ing the ignition switch off and on.
If the display indicates "FI" or "Sd"
continuously and the red indicator
light blinks, the engine will not
start.
