Drill with 1/16" drill bit
Introduction
This kit contains the materials necessary to convert a PHW series
hood to a recirculating configuration in instances where exhausting
the hood outside the building is not practical or desired. The kit
consists of a top cap and 2 charcoal filters. When installed, the top
cap redirects air flow out the vents in the sides of the hood chimney
assembly. The provided charcoal filters are installed underneath the
mesh type filters included with the hood. The charcoal filters reduce
smoke and fumes before the hood exhaust is vented into the room.

STEP 2 Install the chimney mounting bracket and the blower assembly according to the installation instructions included with the hood. STEP 3 Wire the hood according to the hood installation instructions.
- Page 3 PHW Series Hood Recirculation Kit STEP 7 Using sheet metal screws and duct tape, attach the end of the duct length Chimney mounting cut in step 6 to the exhaust outlet on bracket the top of the blower assembly. Use a Top cap level to make sure the duct is vertical.
- Page 4 STEP 11 Remove the protective plastic from the charcoal filters included with the kit. STEP 12 Insert the charcoal filters into both openings the mesh filters where removed from in step 10. The hood is designed to allow for both the charcoal filters and the mesh filters to fit inside the hood at the same time. When you insert the charcoal filter, make sure the removal tab is toward the bottom. See diagram below. STEP 13 Reinstall the mesh filters.
