Step 7. Connect the range to gas supply

Shut off the main gas supply valve before disconnecting the old range and leave it off until
the new hookup has been completed. Don't forget to relight the pilot on other gas appliances
when you turn the gas back on.
Because hard piping restricts movement of the range, the use of a CSA International-certified
flexible metal appliance connector is recommended unless local codes require a hard-piped
connection.

If your area requires a rigid pipe hookup,
contact a qualified installer, service agency,
or gas supplier.
NOTE
The gas shut-off valve should be installed
in an accessible location in the gas piping,
external to the appliance, for the purpose
of turning on or shutting off the gas to the
appliance.
- WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS:
• DO NOT light a match, candle, or
cigarette.
• DO NOT try to light any appliance.
• DO NOT touch any electrical switch.
• DO NOT use any phone in your building.
• Clear the room, building, or area of all
occupants.
• Immediately call your gas supplier from
a neighbor's phone. Follow the gas
supplier's instructions.
• If you cannot reach your gas supplier,
call the fire department.
