Preventing unintentional erasing of images (Image protect)

Use the procedure below to protect pictures that you want to keep.

Use the Arrow pad to
select the picture you want
to protect.

Pressing the [OK] button
assigns protection to the
image.
The "

To remove the protection,
press the [OK] button again
while the image is displayed.

* You can also set and remove
protection in Index playback
mode (P.140) and Close-up
playback mode (P.142).
Protected images are not erased by the all-frame erase function but are
erased when you initialize (format) the card. (See "Formatting" on P.157.)
Protection cannot be set or removed for images on a card protected by a
write-protect sticker.
You cannot set or remove image protection while you are displaying
pictures on a TV.
Protection settings are retained until changed, even when the camera is
switched off.
