Changing the Battery When the battery voltage/power decreases to a certain level, the instrument will stop amplifying and emit a soft beeping signal. This signal will continue for about one minute and then the instrument will be automatically switched off. Therefore, it is recommended that you keep a spare battery on hand.

Battery Warning Information Batteries contain dangerous substances and should be dis- posed of carefully in the interest of your safety and for the environment. • Do NOT attempt to recharge batteries which are not specifically designated rechargeable as they may leak or explode.
  • Page 10: Daily Maintenance

Daily Maintenance Keep your hearing instrument clean and dry. Wipe the case with a soft cloth or tissue after use to remove grease or moisture. If the instrument has been exposed to high humidity or perspiration, enclose it (with the ear mould) in a sealed container together with a drying agent (dessicator) overnight.
  • Page 11: The Ear Mould

The Ear mould The ear mould feeds the amplified sound from the hearing instrument into the ear. It is important that the ear mould fits correctly into your ear. If the ear mould irritates your ear in any way and prevents you from wearing your hearing instrument, please contact your hearing care professional to have the ear mould modified.

The ear mould should be cleaned regularly. Remove the ear mould and the silicone tubing from the hearing instrument before you clean it. Lukewarm water should be enough to clean wax off the ear mould. If ear wax is stuck in the sound canal of the ear mould, the cleaning loop or a syringe with lukewarm water can easily be used to “push”...
  • Page 13: Telephone Use

Telephone Use Your hearing instrument is equipped with an induction coil (telecoil) which picks up magnetic emanations from a hear- ing instrument compatible telephone. Your hearing care pro- fessional can programme one of your listening programmes to take advantage of the telecoil. By selecting the telecoil pro- gramme, the hearing instrument will only pick up the sounds coming from the telephone.
  • Page 14: Using Assistive Listening Systems

Do not attempt to open the case of the hearing instrument since this would invalidate the warranty. If your GN ReSound hearing instru- ment requires service, please contact your hearing care pro- fessional for assistance.
  • Page 15: General Precautions

General Precautions • Consult a physician if you find a foreign object in your ear canal, if you experience skin irritation or if excessive ear wax accumulates with the use of the hearing instru- ment. • Different types of radiation, e.g. from NMR or CT scanners, may damage the hearing instrument.
