Charging
Rechargeable Batteries
• The integrated LiPo rechargeable battery is charged via USB.
• The charging procedure may take several hours with a completely empty rechargeable
battery.
As already described, the charging procedure can be effected independently
from the state of the rechargeable battery. Due to the LiPo technology, no
previous discharging is necessary, since there is no so-called memory effect.
The rechargeable battery will not get over-charged due to the integrated
charging electronics; it switches off the charging procedure in due time.
• The rechargeable battery is empty if the multimedia player cannot be activated via the
"/" button after turning it on (move the slide button on the back of the device to the "ON"
position).
The same applies if an "empty battery" warning is issued or if the multimedia player turns off
automatically during operation.
• Depending on your computer's mainboard, the USB ports will be turned off when you turn
off the computer via the front button (computer in standby mode).
Then charging is of course no longer possible. The same applies if the computer is turned
off via its mains switch.
Since it would not be feasible to keep the computer running for the charging process alone,
you may also e.g. use a USB hub with own mains cable. This normally remains activated
when the computer is turned off.
Only charge the multimedia player via a USB port on your computer or a USB
hub and the supplied USB cable, otherwise you damage the charge electronics
and therefore the multimedia player. There is also danger of fires or explosion
due to the integrated LiPo rechargeable battery!
Refer to the two chapters "Safety Instructions" and "Notes on Rechargeable
Batteries".
