Please do not use the equipment if the
use of electronic equipment is prohibited or if the
use of personal headphones is not permitted with
the onboard music service. Ask the aircraft personnel.
5 USE OF THE CLIP
With the aid of the clip (Fig. A. 3) the battery box can.
for example. be attached to the breast pocket of a
shirt or blouse.
6 WHEN DOES THE BATTERY NEED CHANG-
ING?
Replace the battery if the status display starts to
flash and a regular acoustic war ning signal is heard.
7 VERY IMPORTANT

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the headphones.
~
Ear pads wear out. If they are dirty or worn,
replace them with new ones.
~
To replace the ear pads. and for other service
and repair work, take the headphones to your
AKG dealer.
~
Do not expose the equipment to heat. direct
sunlight or humidity, as this can be damaging.
~
Protect the headphones from sharp jolts.
~
Handle the sound-generating components with
care.
~
Make sure that the jacks are not dirty. as this
can result in undesired noise or interference.
~
When not in use, the headphones and the battery
box should be stored in the case supplied.
8 TROUBLESHOOTING

source connection.

Is the audio source switched on?

Set the volume on the audio source higher.

Check the battery status and the battery.

3 STARTING UP
This section is about the operation of active noise
cancelling. If this is required. the receiver can also
be used without a battery.

AAA battery required (not included)
1. Open-the cover of the battery case (underside of
the equipmentJ.
2. Insert an AAA battery observing correct polarity
(+/-).
NOTE: Failure to observe correct polarity results
in damage to the equipment.
3. Close the cover.

.. OPERATION
1. Switch on the audio source and set the volume
to minimum.
See Fig. C: Connect the jack (1) to the audio source
(e.g .. MP3 player) and the jack (2) of the battery
box to the headphones by inserting the jack (2)
into the socket on the headphones as per Fig. C.
2. Adjust the headphones to sit comfortably on the
head and ears.
3. Wear the headphone marked
"R"
on the right ear
and the headphone marked T' on the left ear.

Switch on the equipment using the OnlOff switch
(Fig. A. 2J. When switched on, the battery status
display will be illuminated in green. The noise-
cancelling function is now active and reduces low-
frequency ambient noise and interference.
S. Increase the volume as required.
NOTE:
~
Only low-frequency interference is effectively
reduced by active noise cancelling. Complete can-
celling of all background noise is not guaranteed.
~
If the power supply is switched off. you will hear
music. but active noise cancelling will not work.
~
When the headphones are switched on, a slight
hissing may be heard. This hissing is caused by the
active electronics and is not a malfunction.
~
In quiet surroundings or with certain ambient
sounds, active noise cancelling may not work. The
ambient sound may even be amplified. In this case.
switch off the equipment.
~
Interference may occur in the vicinity of mobile
telephones, Position the equipment further away
from the mobile telephone.
