I took out the filter to clean it, and re-assembled. Now the motor will only run a few seconds before switching itself off. How can I fix this?

As you were, what are the chances the battery went flat just at that moment? Recharged, all om.

To fix the issue of your Black & Decker PD1200B motor running only a few seconds before shutting off after cleaning the filter, follow these steps:
1. Ensure the Filters Are Completely Dry: If you washed the filters, make sure they are fully dry before reinserting them. Wet filters can cause the motor to shut off.
2. Check the Filter Installation: Verify that the fine particulate filter (20) and pre-filter (19) are installed correctly as described in the manual.
3. Inspect the Filters for Damage or Wear: If the filters are worn or damaged, replace them with new ones. Replacement filters (cat. no. PD10) are available from Black & Decker dealers.
4. Ensure Proper Dust Removal: Tap the filter vigorously to remove any remaining dust before reinstalling it.
If the issue persists after following these steps, the problem may require further inspection or professional repair.
