PART NAMES AND FUNCTIONS

(1) Front Panel

Power button
• Press once to turn the power on.
• Press again to set to the "OFF" position and
turn the power off.
• Set the power to the standby mode by pressing
the POWER OFF button on the remote control
unit while the power is on.
• Turn the power on from the standby mode by
pressing the POWER ON button on the remote
control unit.

Power indicator
• This indicator lights when the power is on and
when the power is in the standby mode.

Disc tray
• Load discs here. (See page 12.)

mode between progressive and interlace.

• Press to switch the video output between on
and off.
• When the power is turned off, the setting is
restored to the default value.
(The default value is ON.)

PURE DIRECT DIGITAL button
• Press to switch the audio output between on
and off.
• When the power is turned off, the setting is
restored to the default value.

PURE DIRECT DISPLAY button
• Press to switch the indicate in Display of the
main unit between on and off.
• When the power is turned off, the setting is
restored to the default value.
(The default value is ON.)
• Even when the display is turned off, it lights
for about 2 seconds when any button other
than the DIMMER button is pressed.

Setting the playback area/layer of

(SUPER AUDIO CD SETUP)
• Switch the area/layer of the Super audio CDs
played with priority.

Lights to indicate the currently playing disc.

• This is the output connector for wired remote
control.

• Connect using a 21-pin SCART cable (available
