  • Page 8 When DVDs recorded in Dolby Digital or DTS are played, Dolby Digital or DTS bitstream signals are output from the DVD player’s digital audio output connectors. If a Dolby Digital or DTS decoder is connected, you can achieve sound with the power and sense of presence of a movie theater or concert hall.
  • Page 9 • When playing DVDs recorded in MPEG audio format, the audio signals are down-mixed to 2 channels for output. • With the DVD-2900, we recommend turning the digital output off and only outputting analog signals in order to keep interference from the digital output circuitry to the minimum and allow you to enjoy high bit, high sampling frequency, high quality multi-channel sound.

    REFERENCE: (1) On the gamma correction display, the horizontal axis indicates the brightness level of the image as recorded on the disc, while the vertical axis indicates the brightness level of the image when output from the set. (2) When a bright point on the disc side is adjusted to “dark” on the output side as shown in the diagram at the right, normally the details of bright sections that are hard to see become easier to see.

The DVD- 2900 can display up to 8 characters, consisting of numbers, capital letters, and the “_” (underscore) mark.

    DVD-2900. Playing picture CDs Kodak picture CDs and Fujifilm Fujicolor CDs can be played on the DVD-2900. When a picture CD is played, the photographs on the picture CD can be displayed on a TV. (“Picture CD” and “Fujicolor CD” are service by which photographs taken on conventional silver film cameras are converted into digital data and written on CDs.

    • Do not apply stickers, tape, etc., to either the label side or the signal side of CD-R/RW discs. If adhesive gets on the surface of a disc, the disc may get stuck inside the DVD-2900 and be impossible to eject.

    Are the amplifier and speakers operating properly ? If the DVD-2900 does not seem to be functioning properly, check the table below. If this does not solve the problem, the DVD-2900 may be damaged. Turn off the power, unplug the power supply cord from the power outlet, and contact your store of purchase or nearest DENON sales office.
