Safety information

Use the original packaging or other suitable protective packaging if you need to transport your
device.
Do not drop the keyboard, and protect it from severe knocks and shocks.
Lay the cables in such a way that they do not create a hazard (tripping hazard) and cannot be
damaged. When connecting cables, observe the relevant information in the device manuals.
Do not place any objects on the keyboard.
The keyboard contains small parts. Keep the keyboard out of reach of young children.
The keyboard is not waterproof! Never immerse the keyboard in water and make sure no liquids
(e.g. water, coffee) get into the interior of the keyboard.
Notes on secure use of the card reader in accordance with the German act on electronic
signatures ("Signaturgesetz")
Secure operation of the KB SCR2 eSIG requires implementation of and constant compliance with the
following security measures:
The keyboard must only be used as a card terminal in non-public areas.
Before taking the keyboard into operation, check that no security-relevant modifications have
been made to the keyboard, and also check that all seals are intact (refer to the chapter entitled
"Security seal"). Please contact your supplier if a seal is missing or damaged, or if you suspect a
seal has been manipulated.
In order to ensure authenticity during operation, please make a note of the 7-digit seal numbers.
With the aid of these unique numbers, the product can be identified in the event of any
uncertainty.
Only enter the PIN via the numerical keypad on the terminal.
Make sure that nobody watches you while you enter your PIN.
While entering your PIN, make sure that the PIN LED flashes red, as this indicates that the card
terminal is in Secure PIN Entry mode.
In order to ensure protection of personal identification data (PIN), only use processor cards
which satisfy the specifications of DIN ISO 7816 [2] and/or EMC 2000 [3].
When using a "qualified electronic signature", only use chip cards which have been confirmed in
accordance with the German act on electronic signatures (SigG) and the corresponding
ordinance (SigV), as well as confirmed signature application programs and/or signature
application programs with a manufacturer's declaration. A list of approved components can be
found on the website of the German Federal Network Agency ("Bundesnetzagentur"). The
product represents one part (chip card terminal) of the components involved in the electronic
signature process (signature card, application with signature function).
