Description
LATCH straps are provided with the
seat.
One of the most common systems.
To activate, pull the shoulder belt
out fully. As you feed the shoulder
belt back, a clicking sound will
indicate the belt is locked. Note that
the latch plate slides freely.
The latch plate locks when buckled.
The belt can be pulled to tighten but
the lap portion cannot be loosened
without unbuckling. The shoulder
belt retractor locks only in an
emergency.
The latch plate will have a button or
"switch" to move from the adult pre-
crash position to the child pre-crash
position. The shoulder belt retractor
locks only in an emergency.
Most common in the rear middle
seating position, only the lap portion
of the seat belt is present.
The latch plate has no locking
features and no moving parts. The
shoulder belt retractor locks only in
an emergency.
