NORMAL SOUNDS OF AN AIR CONDITIONER

NORMAL SOUNDS
Your new air conditioner is designed to give you many years of dependable service. This section
tells you how to clean and care for your air conditioner properly.
While your air conditioner is operating, it is normal to hear the following sounds:
SOUNDS
Air movement
Window vibration
Pinging
High pitched hum
Clicking
Gurgling

Air rotating around the fan.
Installation not correct. Refer to Install section
Water droplets being thrown against the outside coil. This helps cool the
condenser coil.You can reduce this noise by removing the subbase water
plug. Removing this plug will lower the Energy Efficiency of your unit. (See
Fig.22)
NOTE: Do not drill hole in base pan.
The compressor turning on and off.
The thermostat turning on and off.
Refrigerant moving through the evaporator (inside) coil.
