Blade Sharpening

WARNING!
AVOID INJURY OR DEATH
Wear safety glasses to prevent eye injury when any of the following
conditions exist:
• When fluids are under pressure
• Flying debris or loose material is present
• Engine is running.
• Tools are being used.
When the blade cutting edges become dull, remove the blades.
See page 32 and 37.
Sharpen the blades at a 28° angle and balance the blades.
Replace the blades when they reach a width of 2.25 inches (57.2
mm).
Always replace all three blades with blades that are equal in
weight to prevent vibration. Use only genuine Polaris replace-
ment blades.
If any vibration in the mower is felt, the blades must be balance
or replaced.

Cleaning The Mower

Remove the mower from the vehicle. See page 25.
WARNING!
AVOID INJURY OR DEATH
Securely block up the mower before working underneath.
Install chains and lift the mower. See page 27.
Lower the mower and place on jackstands (Item 1). Position the
four jackstands as shown.
WARNING!
AVOID INJURY OR DEATH
Wear safety glasses to prevent eye injury when any of the following
conditions exist:
• When fluids are under pressure
• Flying debris or loose material is present
• Engine is running.
• Tools are being used.
Use water or air pressure to clean debris from the bottom of the mower deck.
Use care when removing any objects that are wrapped around blades and blade shafts.
