An O-ring (plastic part) is in-
serted in the mounting flange
11 around the centring collar. If
the O-ring is missing or is dam-
aged, it must in all cases be re-
placed (article number
1 600 210 039) before the
mounting flange 11 is mounted.
Place the diamond cup wheel 12 on the mount-
ing flange 11. Pay attention that the direction-of-
rotation arrow on the diamond cup wheel
agrees with the direction-of-rotation arrow on
the guard and extraction hood 1.
Press the spindle lock button 3 to lock the grind-
ing spindle.
Screw on the clamping nut 13 and tighten it with
the two-pin spanner 15.
Pay attention that the collar of the clamping nut
13 faces away from the machine, as shown in
the figure.
After mounting the diamond cup wheel and
before switching on, check that the diamond
cup wheel is correctly mounted and that it
can turn freely. Make sure that the diamond
cup wheel does not graze against the guard
and extraction hood or other parts.
Changing a Diamand Cup Wheel
When transporting the machine, the diamond
cup wheel 12 should be removed to avoid dam-
age to it.
Do not touch diamond cup wheels before
they have cooled. Diamand cup wheels be-
come very hot while working.
Press the spindle lock button 3 to lock the grind-
ing spindle.
Actuate the spindle lock button only when
the grinder spindle is at a standstill. Other-
wise, the machine may become damaged.
Loosen the clamping nut 13 with the two-pin
spanner 15 and unscrew the clamping nut. Re-
move the diamond cup wheel 12.
Quick-clamping Nut
For convenient changing of grinding tools with-
out the use of additional tools, you can use the
quick-clamping nut 14 instead of the clamping
nut 13.
Bosch Power Tools
Use only a flawless, undamaged quick-
clamping nut 14.
When screwing on, pay attention that the
side of the quick-clamping nut 14 with print-
ing does not face the diamond cutting disc;
the arrow must point to the index mark 16.

when turning the knurled ring in anticlockwise
direction. Never loosen a tight quick-clamping
nut with pliers. Always use the two-pin span-
ner 15.
Dust extraction
Dusts from materials such as lead-containing
coatings, some wood types, minerals and
metal can be harmful to one's health. Touch-
ing or breathing-in the dusts can cause aller-
gic reactions and/or lead to respiratory infec-
tions of the user or bystanders.
Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are
considered as carcinogenic, especially in
connection with wood-treatment additives
(chromate, wood preservative). Materials
containing asbestos may only be worked by
specialists.
– To achieve a high degree of dust extrac-
tion, use the GAS 50 MS vacuum cleaner
for mineral dust together with this power
tool.
– Provide for good ventilation of the work-
ing place.
– It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-
class respirator.
Observe the relevant regulations in your
country for the materials to be worked.
