The low power CPUs do not require active cooling to stay within the specified heat range using the included heatsink. Storage on the board is handled by a SATA 3Gb/s port for connecting a hard drive, optical drive or SSD.

    Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can cause serious damage to electronic components, including the WAFER-PV-D5253/D4253/N4553. Dry climates are especially susceptible to ESD. It is therefore critical to strictly adhere to the following anti-static precautions whenever the WAFER-PV-D5253/D4253/N4553, or any other electrical component, is handled.

    4.2 Installation Considerations NOTE: The following installation notices and installation considerations should be read and understood before the WAFER-PV-D5253/D4253/N4553 is installed. All installation notices pertaining to the installation of WAFER-PV-D5253/D4253/N4553 should be strictly adhered to. Failing to adhere to these precautions may lead to severe damage of the WAFER-PV-D5253/D4253/N4553 and injury to the person installing the motherboard.

    WAFER-PV-D5253/D4253/N4553 SBC Before and during the installation of the WAFER-PV-D5253/D4253/N4553 DO NOT:  DO NOT remove any of the stickers on the PCB board. These stickers are required for warranty validation.  DO NOT use the product before verifying all the cables and power connectors are properly connected.

    WAFER-PV-D5253/D4253/N4553 SBC Step 3: Insert the SO-DIMM. Push the memory in at a 20º angle. (See Figure 4-1) Step 4: Seat the SO-DIMM. Gently push downwards and the arms clip into place. It consists of two metal pins and a small metal clip (often protected by a plastic cover) that slides over the pins to connect them.

    Jumper Location: See Figure 4-5 If the WAFER-PV-D5253/D4253/N4553 fails to boot due to improper BIOS settings, the clear CMOS jumper clears the CMOS data and resets the system BIOS information. To do this, use the jumper cap to close pins 2 and 3 for a few seconds then reinstall the jumper clip back to pins 1 and 2.
