E-mail application

The e-mail application allows you to access the compatible e-mail account that you use in the office or
at home, via the phone (network service). You can write, send, and read e-mails with your phone. Your
phone supports POP3 and IMAP4 e-mail servers.
The e-mail application uses shared memory, see Shared memory on page 16.
Before you can send and retrieve any e-mails, you may need to do the following:
• Obtain a new e-mail account or use the current one. To check the availability of your e-mail
account contact your e-mail service provider.
• To check the settings required for the e-mail application, contact your network operator or e-mail
service provider. To receive the e-mail settings as a configuration message, see Configuration
settings service on page 18.
• To set the e-mail settings on your phone, press
mail
messages. See Settings for e-mail application on page 76.

Writing and sending an e-mail

You can write your e-mail before connecting to the e-mail service, or connect to the service first, and
then write and send your e-mail.
1. Press
Menu
and select Messages, E-mail, and
2. Key in the recipient's e-mail address and press
press OK.
To search for the e-mail address in Contacts, press Options, and select Search.
3. You can key in a subject for the e-mail if you want, and press OK.
If you press Options, you can select one of the following: the message editor, add a new recipient,
add a copy recipient or add a hidden copy recipient.
Menu
and select Messages,
Create
e-mail. The waiting note is displayed.
OK
or press
Edit
and key in the e-mail address, and
