Shooting Options: The Shooting Menu

While shooting in A (auto) mode (A 24), the shooting menu contains the
following options.
Image mode
A
Choose the image mode (a combination of the image size and image quality
(compression)) to be used when recording.
Also available when using other shooting modes (except movie mode).
White balance
B
Match white balance to the light source.
Metering
G
Choose how the camera meters exposure.
Continuous
C
Change settings for Continuous and BSS (Best Shot Selector).
ISO sensitivity
E
Control the camera's sensitivity to light.
Color options
F
Apply color effects to pictures as they are recorded.
AF area mode
G
Choose how the focus area is determined.
Autofocus mode
I
Choose how the camera focuses.

Displaying the Shooting Menu

Set the camera to A (auto) mode (A 24).
Press the d button to display the shooting menu.
• Use the rotary multi selector to choose and apply settings (A 10).
• Press the d button to exit the shooting menu.
B
Functions that Cannot be Applied Simultaneously
Some functions cannot be enabled in conjunction with others (A 109).
