• FL is not turned ON
• Blow out fuse of the primary side
• Blow out micro-fuse on the POWER SUPPLY Unit. (Check the each voltage.)
(KUXQ, KCXQ : P202, P203)
(Others : P101, P102, BEA401)
• FL controller IC (IC101) on the FLKY Assy is damaged.
• Check the following connections :
POWER SUPPLY Unit - JAC1 Assy, FLKY Assy - JAC1 Assy,
JAC1 Assy - DVDM Assy, JAC1 Assy - TRSB Assy - SSRB Assy,
DVDM Assy - PICKUP Assy, DVDM Assy - SMEB Assy - FGSB Assy
• Check each voltage (EV+5V, +5V (SW), +3.3V (SW), +2.5V (SW), +6V, +12V (SW) and -27V)
(If above voltage are not supplied, check the micro-fuse and short-circuit between each voltages.)
FL indication is dark or flickers.
Indicates the error message
• Check the following connections :
DVDM Assy (CN2) - LOMB Assy (CN31)
DVDM Assy (CN55) - JAC1 Assy (CN902)
JAC1 Assy (CN903) - TRSB Assy (CN11)
TRSB Assy (CN12) - SSRB Assy (CN21)
• Check the +12V and +6V power supply
voltages (If above voltages are not
supplied, check the CPU operation of the
right description.)
• Check the following connections :
DVDM Assy (CN2) - LOMB Assy (CN31)
DVDM Assy (CN55) - JAC1 Assy (CN902)
JAC1 Assy (CN903) - TRSB Assy (CN11)
TRSB Assy (CN12) - SSRB Assy (CN21)
• Check the +12V and +6V power supply
voltages (If above voltages are not
supplied, check the CPU operation of the
right description.)
• Check the following connections :
DVDM Assy (CN2) - LOMB Assy (CN31)
DVDM Assy (CN55) - JAC1 Assy (CN902)
JAC1 Assy (CN903) - TRSB Assy (CN11)
TRSB Assy (CN12) - SSRB Assy (CN21)

• Short or open the zenner diode on the POWER SUPPLY Unit.
(KUXQ, KCXQ : D207)
(Others : D304)
• Check the values of R180 on the FLKY Assy.
Refer to the section "7.1.4 ERROR CODE".
• Traverse mechanism down operation :
1 Pin 86 (Clamp signal) of IC11 is "L" level (=0V).
2 Drive signal from pin 42 of IC11 outputs "L" level.
3 Perform the mechanism down operation and pin 86
Q Q
of IC11 becomes "H" level (=3.3V).

• Disc detection operation :
1 Drive signal from pin 68 of IC11 outputs "L" level.
Rotary tray turns clockwise.
2 Inputs the tray position detecting pulse to pin 95 of IC11.
3 When a disc is put in, inputs the disc detecting pulse to
pin 36 of IC11 while synchronizing the tray position
detecting pulse of 2.
4 If there is no disc, Indicates "NO DISC" in the FL.
• Traverse mechanism down operation :
1 Pin 86 (Clamp signal) of IC11 is "L" level (=0V).
2 Drive signal from pin 42 of IC11 outputs "L" level.
3 Perform the mechanism down operation and pin 86
of IC11 becomes "H" level (=3.3V).
• Tray open operation :
1 In the tray close state, pin 84 of IC11 is "H" level.
2 Drive signal from pin 42 of IC11 outputs "L" level.
3 Perform the tray open operation and pin 84 of IC11
becomes "L" level.
• Tray close operation :
1 In the tray open state, pin 84 of IC11 is "L" level.
2 Drive signal from pin 42 of IC11 outputs "H" level.
3 Close the tray and pin 84 of IC11 becomes "H" level.
• Disc detection operation :
1 Drive signal from pin 68 of IC11 outputs "L" level.
Rotary tray turns clockwise.
2 Inputs the tray position detecting pulse to pin 95 of IC11.
3 When a disc is put in, inputs the disc detecting pulse to
pin 36 of IC11 while synchronizing the tray position
detecting pulse
• Clamp operation (Traverse mechanism up) :
1 In the mechanism down state, pin 86 of IC11 is "H" level.
