Troubleshooting – Causes and Corrective Measures
Cause
Symbol for temperature warning (thermometer) is shown in the display,
operation is not possible
Measuring tool not within the operating
temperature range between – 10 °C and
+40 °C.
Battery indicator decreasing
Battery voltage decreasing (measure-
ment still possible).
Battery indicator empty, measurement not possible
Battery voltage too low
"Error" and "––––" indication in display
The angle between the laser beam and
the target is too acute.
The target surface reflects too intensely
(e.g. a mirror) or insufficiently (e.g. black
fabric), or the ambient light is too bright.
The laser beam outlet 13 or the reception
lens 12 are misted up (e.g. due to a rapid
temperature change).
Calculated value is greater than 999 999
or smaller than –999 999 m/m
Unreliable measuring result
The target surface does not reflect cor-
rectly (e.g. water, glass).
The laser beam outlet 13 or the reception
lens 12 are covered.
Measuring result not plausible
Wrong reference level set
Obstruction in path of laser beam

Wait until the measuring tool has reached
the operating temperature
Replace batteries/rechargeable batteries
Replace batteries/rechargeable batteries
Enlarge the angle between the laser beam
and the target
Work with the laser target plate 16

Wipe the laser beam outlet 13 and/or the
reception lens 12 dry using a soft cloth
Divide calculation into intermediate steps
