is carried out at a point 90° from the axial direction of the motive power rotain shaft,
and the adjustments are made in the following manner:
i)
When the same drive pinion and ling gear are to be reused, remember wirhour
fail to use the shims thar were fitted initially.
ii)
When using a new ring gear and pinion:
a)
Use a mandrel instead of the differential carrier and use the shims [(two sizes
available: 0.004, 0.008 in (0. I, 0.2 mm)] between the front axle and front axle
case cap to adjust the reading for A to 0.6280

Fit the differeniial assembly with the fronr axle case.

Insert shims [two sizes available: 0.004, 0.012 in (0.1, 0.3 mm)] between
the fronr axle ( L ) and between ball bearing 6207 so that the backlash /Item 6 ) is
0.005

0.007 in (0.13 -0.18 mm).

d ) At this time, be sure that there is no space between the differential
housing and the ball bearing 6207 (both sides), the front axle ( L ) and ball bearing
6207 (ligh thud).
e)
Insert shims [0.004. 0.012 in (0.1, 0.3 mm)] between the fronr axle ( R ]
and front axle case so that there is no space at the places mentioned in Irem (d).
f)
Irem I 2 through I5 refer to measurements for the bevel gears in the front-
gem cases; the adjustments are made in the following manner:
( I ) When using the same bevel gears, remember wirhour fail to use the shims
thar were fitted initially.
