    Intended Use Intended Use The RTX smoke detector serves for the detection of smoke indoors and to issue a loud acoustic signal if it is detected. If triggered, the smoke detector sends a radio signal which can be received by alarm system in the Protect series or other smoke alarms.

    Registering Without Alarm System Registering Without Alarm System Connecting the Smoke Detectors to Each Other Without an Alarm System The smoke detectors can be connected to each other directly via radio signals. In this case, one of the smoke detectors must be set-up as the master and the other smoke detectors registered as slaves on the master.
  • Page 13 Registering Without Alarm System Setting Up a Smoke Detector as Master The master should be set-up in a central position in the area to be monitored. The Code button must remain pressed until the registration process, including all of the slaves, has been completely fin­ ished.

    Registering With Alarm System Complete a function test following registration! Press the Test button (5). The function of the alarm signal, control lamp and, if necessary, connected devices are tested. Following registration, we recommend identifying all the smoke detectors as master and slave devices using the labels supplied.

Select the Register menu option on the alarm system. 2. Connect the 9 V power pack enclosed in the scope of delivery to the battery clip on the smoke detector.

    In the Event of an Alarm In the Event of an Alarm Signalling (Master is Triggered) The illustration indicates the sequence of notification when the smoke detector set-up as the master is triggered. If you have linked the smoke detectors to each other without an alarm system, notification oc­ curs accordingly without an alarm system.

  • Page 18 In the Event of an Alarm What to do If the smoke detectors raise an alarm Keep calm. Always assume that is a real emergency situation. Proceed as follows if a smell, smoke or fire has developed in the area being monitored: You and others at risk must move away from the danger area.

Deactivate the alarm by ventilating the room in which the smoke detector has been triggered. Deactivate the alarm via the alarm system base unit (refer to the operating manual enclosed with the alarm system).
