adaptor is damaged, a same model adaptor shall be used only.
 When the power switch is in OFF position, this unit is not completely disconnected from the mains!
 In order to prevent electric shock, do not open the cover. Apart from the mains fuse there are no user
serviceable parts inside.
 Never repair a fuse or bypass the fuse holder. Always replace a damaged fuse with a fuse of the same
type and electrical specifications!
 In the event of serious operating problems, stop using the appliance and contact your dealer immediately.
 Please use the original packing when the device is to be transported.
 Due to safety reasons it is prohibited to make unauthorized modifications to the unit.
INSTALLATION GUIDELINES:
 Install the unit in a well-ventilated location where it will not be exposed to high temperatures or humidity.
 Placing and using the unit for long periods near heat-generating sources such as amplifiers, spotlights, etc.
will affect its performance and may even damage the unit.
 The unit can be mounted in 19-inch racks. Attach the unit using the 4 screw holes on the front panel. Be
sure to use screws of the appropriate size. (screws not provided)
 Take care to minimize shocks and vibrations during transport.
 When installed in a booth or flight case, please make sure to have good ventilation to improve heat

 To avoid condensation to be formed inside, allow the unit to adapt to the surrounding temperatures when
bringing it into a warm room after transport. Condense sometimes prevents the unit from working at full

Clean by wiping with a polished cloth slightly dipped with water. Avoid getting water inside the unit. Do not

CONNECTIONS
Use good quality cinch-cinch cables to prevent bad audio quality. For more information on connections,
please refer to the next chapter.
Be sure to turn off the amplifiers before you make changes to the different connections. In this manual we
talk about "line inputs". This is a global name for inputs with a level between 750mV and 2V. This includes
tuners, videos, CD-players, etc.

1.
CUE button: Pressing the CUE button during playback provides an immediate return to the position at
which playback was started. Playback starts immediately from the programmed cue point for as long as
the CUE button is pressed. The player jumps back to the cue point as soon as the CUE button is
released. Also with the unit in pause mode (Play/Pause LED blinks) the jog wheel is used to set a
different start point. By pressing "PLAY/PAUSE" button then "CUE", you can confirm this new cue point.
2.
PLAY/PAUSE button: every time you press the PLAY/PAUSE button the player changes from play to
pause or from pause to play. The button blinks as long as the player is set to pause.
3.
SEARCH button: has several functions, depending on the situation:
A. SEARCH function: press this button shortly to toggle the function of the JOG WHEEL(4)
between fast search mode (search button is lit) and normal mode. The fast search function is
automatically switched off when the JOG WHEEL is not used for more than 10seconds.
PLAY MODE: normally the JOG WHEEL is used as pitch bend tool to synchronize the beats
of the playing track to another track. When the fast search mode is turned on, you can use
the JOG WHEEL to search very quickly forward/backward inside the current track.
PAUSE MODE: normally the JOG WHEEL is used to search very precisely (1frame
precision) for the exact cue point. When the fast search mode is turned on, you can use the
JOG WHEEL to search very quickly forward/backward inside the current track.
B. NO BUTTON function: in some cases (setup menu and loading of cue points) the display asks
you to answer a question with yes/no. In these cases you can press the search button to confirm
your answer as NO.
C. Enter the SETUP MENU: press the search button for about 1,5seconds to enter the setup
menu. Refer to the chapter SETUP MENU for more information.
4.
JOG WHEEL: This jog wheel serves 3 functions depending on the mode you are working in.
 The jog wheel acts as a slow frame search (1/75sec) control when the track is not playing but either
paused or set to a cue point. To set a new cue point, spin the wheel then press PLAY(2) or LOOP
IN(20) when you have determined the correct position. Press CUE(1) to return to the "CUE POINT".
 If the track is playing, the jog wheel temporarily bends the pitch of the music up to +/-100% by rotating
the wheel clockwise to speed it up or counterclockwise to slow it down. The amount of pitch change is
determined by the speed of rotation. In the setup menu (see further) you can change the impact of the
jog wheel on the pitch bend function.
 In setup mode the jog wheel is used to browse the setup menu. Refer to the chapter SETUP MENU
for more information.
5.
BPM/CUE button: The function of this button depends on how "cue system" is set in the setup menu:
 CUE SYSTEM = BPM/TAP: The USB900 has a full automatic BPM-counter. In some rare
cases the automatic beat counter doesn't count as it should do (beats are out of the normal
range or there's simply no beat to detect). In these cases you can help the beat counter by
manually tapping this button to the rhythm of the beat. You can switch back to the automatic
beat counter by pressing the BPM/CUE button until the "AUTOBPM" in the right upper corner of
the display turns on.
 CUE SYSTEM = CUE on/off: In this mode you can use the BPM/CUE button to send the PFL
cue monitor signal to the headphone output. The BPM/CUE button blinks when no signal is
routed to the headphone and in lit when the PFL signal is audible.
6.
SPEED slider: Press the PITCH ON/OFF button(9), so it is lit. The speed can be changed up to +16%/-
100% by moving the fader. The speed will not change if the PITCH ON/OFF button(9) is off. You can
change the pitch range with the PITCH RANGE button(10)
7.
ON/OFF Button: press this button shortly to turn the unit on. To avoid an accidental shutdown, you
have to press this button for about 1,5sec to turn the unit off.
8.
RANDOM Button: A fantastic function for restaurants and other places where you need background
music, all tracks on your memory card will be played in random order! Just press the random button for
about 1,5sec to start and stop the random function on the left player. If you don't like the song currently
playing, simply press the track button (11) shortly to go to the next track.
Remark: As long as the random function is used, the other functions on the left player are inactive, the
right player can be used normally.
9.
PITCH ON/OFF + LOCK Button: press this button shortly to turn the speed function on/off. When the
speed function is activated (button is lit), you can press the button for about 1,5sec to turn the pitch lock
function (Master tempo) on. This function allows you to make adjustments to a tracks speed using the
pitch control without altering its tonal pitch. The button blinks when the Pitch Lock is on.
NOTE: be informed that the pitch lock function has its limitations. From a certain speed deviation
(depends on the music style) the pitch lock won't be able to keep the same pitch anymore. First you will
hear a small distortion that becomes more important at higher speed deviations. This is not always a
